The hardware gods are displeased

Symptoms:
  • Computer powers on; lights come on, fans (both power supply and CPU) start up.
  • No video output; no POST, nothing. Light on monitor goes amber to indicate no signal from computer.
  • Keyboard unresponsive; num/caps lock keys do not turn keyboard lights on.

It died while I was at work yesterday. It worked fine yesterday morning and didn’t work when I got home from work. Rebooting does not help.

It’s probably not the motherboard if the power comes on, right? What else could it be? Dead CPU? Video card? Memory? Although the processor fan still works fine, I’m thinking it might have overheated; the case was pretty warm when I got home.

blah blah I hate computers blah blah blah
