On rats and racing

Lily Tomlin once said, “The trouble with the rat race is that even if you win, you’re still a rat”.

So why race at all? This is something Sarai and I have been asking ourselves lately. We don’t have a good answer yet. Perhaps our inability to come up with one is, in itself, an answer.
